Hello, I'm Lizzy. Welcome to my website as a writer and journalist.
I've had a strong passion for writing since the very beginning of my learning career, in elementary school. My love for writing has grown since then with the help of phenomenal English teachers that have been excellent sources of guidance. I enjoy reading books and relating them to the world. For instance, how Animal Farm reveals the corruption of power. Or How to Kill A Mockingbird demonstrates the dangers of blind spots and the faults within oneself. I also enjoy reading books outside of school like The Perks of Being a Wallflower or the Faults In Our Stars. These books hold a special place in my heart, acting as the true root for my love of reading. Reading books and falling in love with them served as the root beginning for my writing career. In seventh grade, my English teacher (and now current journalism teacher), Ms. Thomas, recognized my passion for writing and suggested that I should apply for journalism the following year. I eventually took her advice and made the class. With only one year of experience, I now have gained hundreds of new computer and writing skills. I also learned leadership skills, being one of the editors for the newspaper, and I've gained valuable skills in management. I enjoyed journalism so much, that I applied and was accepted to MCHS's prestigious journalism class. I look forward to continuing my experience in journalism and expanding my love for writing in high school. :)
